Rise slowly from sitting or lying down. Drink plenty of water. Don't drink alcohol. Eat small meals that are low in carbohydrates. Try to get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity each day.

- Confusion, especially in an older person.
- Fainting.
- Rapid, shallow breathing.
- Cold, clammy skin and decrease in skin color.

- Blurred or fading vision.
