Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also called enlarged prostate, can block the flow of urine out of the bladder. The condition causes bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.
Symptoms
Benign prostatic hyperplasia can cause an urgent need to urinate often. It can prevent being able to fully empty the bladder. The stream may be weak or may stop and start.
Treatments
Treatments include medicines, surgery and procedures that involve smaller, fewer or no cuts.
